Community Transit marks 50 years with bus revival

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Community Transit launched a celebration of its 50th anniversary on June 23, 2026, with the return of its original bus 'Bluebell' to service. The bus, which was part of the agency's humble beginnings, is now available for public rides to learn about the transit agency's history.

The agency, which began with a handful of leased buses, now operates as a regional transit powerhouse. The 'Bluebell' bus will be available for public rides through the summer as part of the celebration, allowing residents to step aboard and travel through time.

Community Transit is also inviting the public to comment on its draft 2026-2031 Transit Development Plan during a public hearing on July 2.
