Everett Port Partners with Youth Groups on Maritime Careers

The Port of Everett partnered with Sound Experience and Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County to host 45 elementary students for a day of maritime career exploration on August 7, 2026.

Students toured the Port of Everett Seaport, watched marina crew use the Travelift vessel haulout, and sailed aboard the historic tall ship Adventuress, learning about teamwork, navigation, and maritime careers. Port Commissioner Glen Bachman stated the program opens students' eyes to local career opportunities.

The event is part of the Boys & Girls Clubs' Life & Workforce Readiness initiative, connecting youth with local industries. Jordyn Creager of the Boys & Girls Clubs said the experience inspired some students to consider maritime careers.
