Everett Seeks Charter Committee Members

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

The City of Everett is seeking residents to serve on pro and con committees for five proposed Charter amendments that will appear on the November 2026 General Election ballot.

Residents must apply online by July 26, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. to advocate for or against each measure. The committees will prepare statements for the Snohomish County Local Voters' Pamphlet, with statements due August 10 and rebuttals due August 14. The City Council will appoint members at its July 29 meeting.

The amendments cover residency requirements for council seats, meeting frequency, civil service duties, petition thresholds, and website notice options. The Charter Review Committee, which recommended the changes, met July 15 to approve the ballot measures.
